Visakhapatnam
Steel Plant (VSP), a public sector unit of the Union Steel Ministry
produced 2.34 lakh tonnes of saleable steel during the month of
September achieving 116 per cent target. Production of 3.10 lakh
tonnes of hot metal and 2.74 lakh tonnes.....................

Army Rafters rescue US citizens in Ganges at Shivpuri
Three
officials of the US Embassy in India and an American boy were
rescued by Indian Army Rafters at Shivpuri on 04 Nov 2002. The
Americans were rafting in a commercially hired raft in the Ganges,
while negotiating a rapid their raft flipped and the rafters were
thrown overboard into the river.....................

Indo Bangladesh Army River Rafting Expedition
The
second joint Indo-Bangladesh Army river rafting expedition was
flagged off by Chief Minister of Uttranchal, Shri ND Tiwari at
Dehradun yesterday. Being conducted by the Army Adventure Wing,
the expedition will cover a distance of 150kms in the Ganges.....................

The
Railway Minister Shri Nitish Kumar has, as a special case, ordered
to pay an enhanced amount as ex-gratia to the victim of the Chhapra
Train accident. Accordingly, Rs. One lakh will be given in case
of death, Rs.15,000/- in case of grievious injury and Rs.2000/-
in case of simple injury.....................
