Visakhapatnam Steel
Plant (VSP), a public sector unit of the Union Steel Ministry
produced 2.34 lakh tonnes of saleable steel during the month of
September achieving 116 per cent target. Production of 3.10 lakh
tonnes of hot metal and 2.74 lakh tonnes of liquid steel during
the month also represented 104 and 107 per cent of the target
respectively. The value of exports made by the plant during the
month was Rs. 60 Crore.
During the month,
the Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has produced 10.34 , 9.46
and 8.05 lakh tonnes of hot metal, crude steel and saleable steel
representing 100, 99 and 93 per cent of the target respectively.
Bhilai and Rourkela steel plants have achieved 98 per cent of
their production target of saleable steel ingots. Bokaro steel
plant has achieved 87 per cent of saleable steel production target
whereas its hot metal production stood at 107 per cent.
