Dr. A.V.S. REDDY TAKES OVER AS TRIBAL WELFARE SECRETARY

Dr. A.V.S. Reddy, an Officer of 1968 Batch of Indian Administrative Service (Andhra Pradesh Cadre), has taken over charge here today as Secretary in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Dr. Reddy, an expert in Rural Development, was earlier the Director General of National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD), Hyderabad is instrumental in visualising and making a reality of the unique Rural Technology Park in the NIRD campus.. He has to his credit the introduction of M.Tech. programme in Rural Development in collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University). Dr. Reddy also served the Army as Major in the year 1971.
