Four launch
vehicle and five satellite missions are slated for 2003-04 while
two launch vehicle and four satellite missions are scheduled
for 2004-05. This information was given in a written reply in
Lok Sabha today by the Minister of State for Space and Atomic
Energy Shri S B Mookherjee.
He said India has
a self-reliant space programme and the recent Columbia disaster
in the US will in no way affect our space missions. Bilateral
agreements with National Aeronautics and Space Administration
(NASA) of USA and Russia’s Space Agency cover cooperation in
the area of space applications, which only supplement ISRO’s
space programme. However, the cooperation in the field of space
research with US also cover earth and atmospheric sciences.
