The Ministry
of Rural Development has released Rs.28.56 crore as second instalment
to twelve districts of Uttar Pradesh under Sampoorna Grameen
Rozgar Yojana (SGRY – 1st stream) for the year 2002-03.
The Ministry has
also released 23.12 thousand tonnes of wheat and 18.39 thousand
tonnes of rice to twelve districts of Uttar Pradesh .

The Ministry has
already released first instalment of funds Rs.29.88 crore to
the State Government.
The first stream
of the programme is being implemented at the District and Intermediate
Level Panchayats. Under this stream, funds available are distributed
between the Zila Parishad and Intermediate Level Panchayats
or Panchayat Samiti in the ratio of 40:60. The expenditure and
implementation of the programme with regard to cash component
is to be shared on 75:25 basis between the Centre and the State
Government. The State Govt. should release to the district the
State cash share, within a fortnight of the date of release
of the Central assistance.
