CAUVERY WATER SHARING : SUB-GROUP
OF TECHNICAL EXPERTS TO BE FORMED
A Sub-group of technical
experts will be set up for evolving a formula for distress sharing
of Cauvery water among Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Pondicherry.
The Sub-group to be headed by Shri R.K.Sharma, Commissioner of
Projects, will have technical experts from all the four states
of Cauvery basin as its members. The Sub-group is to meet in a
couple of weeks and work out suitable parameters for sharing of
Cauvery water. This decision was taken at the 17th
Meeting of the Monitoring Committee under the Cauvery River Authority
held here today under the chairmanship of Shri A.K.Goswami, Secretary,
Ministry of Water Resources. The Chief Secretaries of Karnataka,
Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry attended the meeting. Government of
Kerala was represented by Principal Secretary (Water Resources).
