C-DOT TO PARTNER WITH TELCOS


Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT), premier telecom R&D centre has decided to partner with telecom companies (Basic/Cellular operators) to provide total telecom solutions to enable the operators to meet the customer expectations.

Partnership summit organised by C-DoT today at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, C-DoT brought together leading telecom operators BSNL, Bharti, Shyam, Idea, TATA Teleservices, MTNL etc.

Participating in the Seminar, the CMD, BSNL, Shri Prithipal Singh said that operators have to meet customer expectations in terms of quality of service and reduce tariff. The Adviser(Technology), Telecom Commission, Shri Lalwani said that C-DoT has to partner with operators to meet the services and technologies they need. Shri Rajiv Mehrotra, Chairman, Shyam Technologies said that Government and DoT should support indigenous technology. Shri N.K. Goel, President, TEMA said that C-DoT has done a great service to the nation and the country looks forward to C-DoT for more technologies for self-reliance. Shri K.H. Khan, Member (Technology), DoT appreciated C-DoT for taking initiative and becoming market oriented. Shri Jagbir Singh, Vice-President, Bharti Infotel presented a scenario for future trends in telecom technologies and expected C-DoT to work with operators to develop those Indian market technologies.

The major objective of the partnership summit was to apprise the Telecom companies about the C-DoT’s technical strengths, products, technologies and solutions and its plans to develop futuristic technologies for the requirements of telecom markets.

Using the inputs of operators, C-DoT is looking forward to cater to generic and specific needs of the telecom service providing companies through various models of cooperation including long term understanding and sustaining partnership on mutually identified area of technology solutions.
