METRO RAILWAY IN ANDHRA PRADESH

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has engaged the services of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for introduction of a Metro Rail System in Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

The routes to be covered by the proposed Metro Rail System are: -

  1. Miyapur-Kukatpally-Osmania Medical College-Dilsukh Nagar-Chitanyapuri (26.27 kms.) – Corridor No. 1.
  2. Secunderabad-Charminar-Falaknuma(13.18 kms.) -Corridor No. 2.

The project cost is estimated at Rs. 3,205 crore at April, 2003 prices. Both corridors are proposed as elevated lines with modern rolling stock and system.
