FUNDS AND FOODGRAINS RELEASED TO
JHARKHAND UNDER SGRY
Ministry of Rural Development has released
Rs. 64.17 crore to seventeen districts of Jharkhand as first installment
under Sampoorna Gramin Rojgar Yojana (SGRY-1).
The cash expenditure
on implementation of the programme is to be shared on 75.25 basis
between the Centre and the State respectively.
The State Government
should release to the district the State Cash share, within a
fortnight of the date of release of the Central assistance.
Ministry has approved
the release of 8274 tonnes of Wheat and 24821 tonnes of common
Rice as first installment of foodgrains to 7 Districts of the
State. These districts are : Dumka, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Gumla, Simdega,
West Singhbhum, Saraikela. The State Government is entitled to
lift the foodgrains from July, 2003 to 31st March,
2004. The transportation cost for lifting the foodgrains will
be borne by the State Government concerned.
