Coaches of a new Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) (German) type design, capable of 160 kilometre per hour manufactured by Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala will be introduced into Rajdhani service soon at a maximum operational speed of 130 kilometre per hour.

Indian Railways have adopted technology from German Company M/S Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) (now ALSTOM LHB) for manufacture of light weight, high speed coaches. These coaches have extra earning potential as they can carry more passengers per coach, give better ride comfort and have enhanced safety features.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri Bandaru Dattatraya in a written reply to a question from Shri Ananta Nayak in the Lok Sabha today.
