Ministry of Rural
Development has released Rs.67.42 crore under centrally sponsored
Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme (ARWSP) as second instalment
to Andhra Pradesh during 2002-03. Ministry has released Rs.60.93
crore for execution and completion of schemes to provide safe
drinking water facilities to rural habitations and schools under
ARWSP – normal programme.
An amount of Rs.6.49
crore has been released to the state government exclusively for
drinking water schemes in DDP (Desert Development Programme) areas.
The funds will be utilised in the habitations having drinking
water quality problems. Priority shall be accorded to cover partially
covered areas.
