The Tripartite Talks
involving representatives of the Centre, Assam Government and
the Bodo Liberation Tigers (BLT) on the Bodo demands was held
in New Delhi today. The meeting felt that some more time was needed
to resolve all outstanding issues. It was, therefore, decided
to extend the cessation of hostilities between the security forces
and the BLT for a period of one month which will remain in operation
till the 21st of February 2003. The final round of
tripartite talks will be held in early February to resolve the
issues.
