Commodore Lokesh
K Batra retired as Secretary Kendriya Sainik Board. Commodore
Batra, an officer of the Indian Navy had joined the Kendriya Sainik
Board on Oct 31, 2001.
As Secretary
Kendriya Sainik Board, he brought vision and foresight in handling
various problems of over 1 crore of people comprising widows of
service personnel, disabled servicemen and those boarded out from
service, needy ex-servicemen and their dependants. He has brought
in new procedures and processes for efficient handling of Armed
Forces Flag Day Funds.
Commissioned
on May 22, 1967, Commodore Batra had served the Indian Navy in
various capacities as a Hydrographer of repute. During the earthquake
relief operations in Gujarat in 2001, he was responsible for re-construction
of an entire village known as Moda. Commodore Batra has also published
a book ‘Outreach’.
