75 CRORE RUPEES ALLOCATED FOR DEENDAYAL
DISABLED
REHABILITATION SCHEME FOR 2003-04
Rs. 75 crore have been
allocated for the Scheme to Promote Voluntary Action for Persons
with Disabilities for 2003-04. The Scheme re- named as Deendayal
Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme is implemented through Non-Government
Organizations to supplement the rehabilitation services delivered
through governmental and semi-governmental agencies. It covers
projects relating to Education, Training including Vocational
Training, Placement Services, Therapeutic and Rehabilitation services.
Upto 90% of the budgeted amount for the project is funded under
the Scheme. The rehabilitation services under the Scheme cover
mental retardation, hearing impairment, visual impairment, locomotor
disability, leprosy cured persons, cured or controlled mentally
ill etc. The information was given by the Social Justice and Empowerment
Minster Dr. Satyanarayan Jatiya in a written reply in the Lok
Sabha today.
