RAIL TUNNEL THROUGH PIR PANJAL
RAJYA SABHA
The work of construction
of new line from Udhampur to Baramulla is already in progress.
This will involve construction of tunnel across Pir Panjal range.
The construction of tunnel is likely to start during 2004-2005
after necessary works. The project is targeted for completion
by August 15, 2007.
This information
was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri Basanagouda
R. Patil in a written reply to a question from Shri P. Prabhakara
Reddy in the Rajya Sabha today.
