ECL NOT TO PRIVATISE COAL MINES IN
SALAMPUR AREA

Ltd. (ECL) is not planning to handover five coal mines in Salampur
area to private parties. The Minister of State for Coal Shri Prahlad
Singh Patel informed the Lok Sabha today that 11 patches of Eastern
Coalfied Limited (ECL) have been identified for outsourcing where
there are chances of occurrence of fire, and illegal mining and
which are economically not viable to work departmentally. Nine
of them are located in West Bengal and two in Jharkhand.
