CONSTRUCTION OF AN ADIVASI BHAWAN IN CAPITAL IS ON THE ANVIL

Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs has already approached the Ministry of Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation to allot 2000 square meters of land in Kotla Road, Rouse Avenue, New Delhi and the matter is being followed up with that Ministry for early allotment of land. Meanwhile the Planning Commission have been requested to provide additional funds amounting to an initial sum of Rs. 10 crore (non-recurring) towards the cost of land and building of Adivasi Bhawan and a further amount of Rs. 1.5 crore (recurring) per annum for the maintenance of the Advisai Bhawan and the facilities to be provided therein. Action to finalise the Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) Memo and Scheme for this purpose is also underway.
