TRIBAL AFFAIRS MINISTRY MULLS TO PROMOTE TRIBAL CULTURE IN THE COUNTRY

Union Tribal Affairs Ministry is in the process of finalisation of an Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) Memo for a new Scheme titled ‘Financial Assistance for Support, Promotion, Expansion and Dissemination of Art and Culture and Traditional Sporting Events of Scheduled Tribe Communities’ and the guidelines for the implementation of the said Sheme. The scheme along with the draft EFC Memo, is being circulated amongst the experts of the Tribal Art for their comments/suggestions.

Pending finalisation of this Scheme, the Ministry has, however, projected to the Planning Commission the requirement of additional funds amounting to Rs.2.5 crore (recurring) per annum approximately.
