CONDOLES FILMMAKER SAIKIA’S DEATH
The Minister of Information
& Broadcasting, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad has condoled the
death of national award-winning filmmaker and eminent litterateur,
Dr. Bhabendranath Saikia, who passed away today after a prolonged
illness.
In a condolence
message, Shri Prasad said that Saikia who won Rajat Kamal for
all his eight films, was also a prolific author with several books
to his credit and edited the popular Assamese Magazine, ‘Prantik’
and children’s magazine ‘Sonfura’.
