VSP ACHIEVES RS. 522 CRORE SALES TURNOVER IN JULY

Vishakhapatnam Steel Plant has put up an excellent performance on all fronts during the month of July 2003 by maintaining tempo of its performances achieved during the earlier months.

Gross sales of Rs. 522 crore achieved during July 2003 is the best sales performance for any July month, since inception. All the production units recorded their best July month production performances, since inception. Production of 81,081 tonnes of value added steel during the month is also the best monthly performance since inception.

During the month the plant produced 4,85,108 tonnes of sinter, 3,40,000 tonnes of hot metal 2,92,171 tonnes of liquid steel, 2,74,804 tonnes of cast blooms, 1,82,814 tonnes of billets, 71,107 tonnes of bar products, 89,976 tonnes of wire rods, 89,103 tonnes of medium merchant and structural Mill products and 2,83,002 tonnes of saleable steel. All the above are the best July performance since inception.

The production of saleable steel during July 2003 recorded a growth of 15 per cent over July 2002.
