SHRI SHANTA KUMAR LAUDS ROLE OF NRIs


The Rural Development Minister, Shri Shanta Kumar has lauded the role of Non Resident Indian in acting as a bridge between India and the country where they live. He was speaking at a reception hosted in his honour by the "Friends of India Society International’ at Norbury, England. Shri Shanta Kumar appreciated the zeal of the NRIs present on the occasion to serve India in any appropriate way. He assured them to take up the matter at the highest level to facilitate NRIs in providing philanthropic service to India.

Shri Shanta Kumar said that Indians are proud of the contribution made by NRIs to British Society. He said prominent Indians like Lord Swaraj Paul and Shri Luxmi Niwas Mittal have made an honourable place for themselves in British Society.

Shri Shanta Kumar who is currently on a visit to England appealed to the international community to restrain Pakistan from sponsoring cross border terrorism. He said the country is witnessing all round progress under the leadership of the Prime Minister Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee. He also elaborated on the various rural development initiatives.
