BSL Q1 PRODUCTION UP 15 PER CENT
Bokaro Steel Plant
(BSL) of the Steel Authority of India Ltd has produced 320,000
tonnes of hot metal in June 2002 against 310,000 tonnes in June
2001. It has produced 293,000 tonnes of crude steel and 245,000
tonnes of hot rolled material against 282,000 tonnes and 224,000
tonnes respectively in the same month of the previous year. In
overall production the campany has shown a positive growth of
15 per cent. With increased levels of production and better realisation,
BSL has recorded a net profit during the month.
The plant is geared
up for even higher levels of production and expects to attain
much higher profit in the coming months of this fiscal.
