UPLIFTMENT
OF JUANG TRIBES IN ORISSA
The Government of
Orissa have taken a micro project for the upliftment of the Juang
tribes in Orissa. The Government of India also provides Central
assistance to the State Government/NGOs under the Central Sector
Scheme for the Development of Primitive Tribe Groups (PTGs) including
the Juang tribes.
The Government of
India reviews the implementation of the schemes annually. The
Government of Orissa has also conducted a baseline survey of PTGs
and will submit an action plan for the development of PTGs in
the State including Juangs.
This information
was given by the Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Shri Jual
Oram in a written reply to a question from Shri Ananta Nayak in
the Lok Sabha today.
