REGULARISATION
OF UNAUTHORISED COLONIES
The Union Government
has filed guidelines for regularisation of unauthorised colonies
in Delhi in the Delhi High Court in CWP No.4771/1993 – Common
Cause (Regd.) society Vs. Union of India & others. The Hon’ble
Court in its order dated 27.2.2001 has inter alia directed the
Ministry to notify the list of colonies which could be regularised
in terms of the guidelines. The Court has also restrained the
Government from regularizing any unauthorized colony in Delhi
till further orders.
This information
was given by Shri O. Rajagopal, Minister of State for Urban Development
and Poverty Alleviation, in a written reply to a question in the
Lok Sabha today.
