NO VOTING RIGHTS TO
INDIANS LIVING ABROAD
LOK SABHA
Owing to practical
and administrative difficulties the proposal for grant of voting
rights to non-resident Indians (that is those who are not ordinarily
resident in India) has not been found feasible.
This information
was given by the Union Minister of Law and Justice, Shri K. Jana
Krishnamurthi in a written reply to a question from Shri V.M.
Sudheeran in the Lok Sabha today.
