The Rourkela Steel
Plant (RSP) of the Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) has broken
all previous April-October records by producing 930944 tonnes
of hot metal, 820412 tonnes of continuous cast slabs and 812922
tonnes of saleable steel during the first seven months of this
fiscal. The growth rates over the corresponding period of last
year in the above categories are 19, 15 and 15 per cent respectively.
This growth levels are also the best achieved among the SAIL plants.
RSP continues
its endeavour to maximize the production of value added products
and a growth of 42, 41, 31, 24, 17 and 7 per cent were achieved
in the production of HR plates and sheets, hot rolled coils for
sale, CRNO, hot rolled coils, tin plates and cold rolled sheets
and coils respectively.
The plant has
achieved the highest ever despatch of total saleable steel during
this period and achieved growth in the depatch of all kinds of
value added products. It has continued its excellent performance
and the momentum of growth built during the last one year.
