MONGOLIA'S SUPPORT TO INDIA'S FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM
Mongolia
has expressed full support to India in its fight against terrorism.
It was conveyed to the Minister for Human Resource Development
and Science and Technology Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi in Ulan-bator
by the Mongolian Prime Minister Mr. N. Enkhbayar at a meeting
today. The Mongolian Prime Minister said that his country is fully
aware of India’s fight against cross-border terrorism and said
it has no place in civilised society. Dr. Joshi mentioned that
the scourge of international terrorism must be completely wiped
out.
Expressing
Mongolia’s gratitude for continued India’s support in various
fields including education, science and technology Mr. Enkhbayar
stated that his country is happy that the A.B. Vajpayee Centre
for Information Technology will soon be ready and an Indo-Mongolian
joint higher secondary school in Ulan-bator. Dr. Joshi told him
that the Indian Government will be deputing five teachers, provide
textbooks and other learning materials for the school besides
other help.
Earlier,
Dr. Joshi and his delegation had talks with the Mongolian Minister
for Education, Culture and Science Mr. A. Tsanjid. Subjects relating
to equivalence of degrees and a new educational exchange programme
figured during the discussions. The highlight of Dr. Joshi’s visit
is the conferment of the ‘Friendship Medal’ on him for his contribution
towards promoting Indo-Mongolian relations, friendship and collaboration.
Dr. Joshi will be the first Indian to receive this top honour
from Mongolia.
