PRIME MINISTER CONDOLES THE DEATH OF RANGA
The Prime Minister,
Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee has expressed deep shock and grief over
the sudden death of noted cartoonist N. K. Ranganath, popularly
known as Ranga who breathed his last in Bangalore this morning.
In a message, the Prime Minister said that Shri Ranga was a single
man institution who took the art of drawing cartoons to new heights.
The speed and ease with which he could draw line-caricature of
any personality was really amazing. He
had the knack of treating his subject with rare sensitivity without
missing the punch lines which brought to the fore his abounding
sense of humour and wit. He was a person of great intensity and
warmth and led a very simple and humble life.
