DECLARES THREE DAYS STATE MOURNING ON THE DEATH OF SHRI KRISHAN
KANT
Government has decided that as a
mark of respect to the departed leader (Shri Krishan Kant, Vice
President of India) state mourning will be observed throughout
India for three days from 27th July 2002 till 29th
July 2002 (Both Days inclusive). During the period of state mourning
the national flag will be flown at half mast throughout India
where it is flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment.
It has been further decided to accord state funeral to the departed
leader at 4.30 p.m. on Sunday the 28th July, 2002 at
Nigam Bodh Ghat, Delhi. All central government offices all over
India will remain closed on Saturday, the 27th July,
2002.
