Kisan Samman Week,
organized by the Ministry of Agriculture to commemorate the birth
centenary of former Prime Minister, Shri Charan Singh, began today
with foundation stone laying ceremony of ‘Krishi Vistar Sadan’
at Pusa by the Union Agriculture Minister Shri Ajit Singh. Secretary,
Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Shri J.N.L. Srivastava
and other senior officials of the Ministry were present on the
occasion.
The building of Krishi
Vistar Sadan is to be constructed under the World Bank aided ‘National
Agricultural Technology Project’. The four-storeyed building will
have a state of the art Conference Hall and various sections of
the Farm Information Unit.
The programmes being
organized by the Agriculture Ministry in connection with Kisan
Samman Week include an exhibition from 21st to 23rd
December and a National Function for Farmer’s Awards on 22nd
December at Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa, New
Delhi.
