The Minister of Information
and Broadcasting, Smt. Sushma Swaraj has said that India is likely
to become a printing hub for Asia for printing Asian editions
of technical and speciality magazines. The policy decision of
the Government in allowing 74 per cent FDI in non-news and non-current
affairs category of publications and allowing Indian editions
of such publications would give a boom to the Indian print industry.
Presiding over the
Golden Jubilee celebrations of the All India Federation of Master
Printers here last evening, Smt. Swaraj said that the opening
up of the printing sector is likely to revolutionize the sector
totally. The industry would be able to adopt latest technologies
and compete with the best in the world, Smt. Swaraj said.
