The Bharatendu Harishchandra
Awards for the year 2001 have been announced. For Journalism and
Mass Communication the first prize is being awarded to Shri Ajay
Kumar Singh for his manuscript "Media Itihas Aur Hashiye
Ke Log". Shri Satendra Sharat has bagged the second prize
for his manuscript "Radio Natak". The third prize goes
to Shri Krishna Chandra Beri for his book "Prakashak Nama".
Five consolation prizes go to Dr. Thakur Dutt Sharma for his book
"Electronic Media", Shri Harsh Dev for his book "Uttar
Adyunik Media Taknik", Shri Rajesh Mathur for his manuscript
"Hindi Patrakarita Ki Nai Disha", Shri Milap Chandra
Dandia for his book "Mukhoton Ke Peechhe – Asli Chehron Ko
Ujagar Karte Patrakarita Ke Pachas Varsh", and Shri Vijai
Kulshreshta for his manuscript "Feature Lekhan Swaroop Aur
Prakar".
The first prize is
of Rs. 35,000/-, second prize of Rs. 25,000/-, third prize of
Rs. 20,000/- and consolation prizes of Rs. 5,000/-each. In Children
Literature category the first prize goes to Shri Ramesh Tailang
for his manuscript "Hari Bhari Dharti" and the second
prize to Shri Devendra Mevadi for his book "Faslein Kahen
Kahani". In the Women Issues category the first prize has
been given to Kumari Anjali for her manuscript "Mahila Asmita
Aur Apradh" and the second prize goes to Smt. Vandana Saxena
for her manuscript "Mahialon Ka Sansar Aur Adhikar".
In the National Integration category the first prize has been
given to Shri Ashok Kumar Srivastava for his manuscript "Rashtriyata:
Darshan Aur Abhivyakti" and the second prize goes to Dr.
Bano Sartaj for her book "Rashtriya Ekta Aur Urdu Shairi".
For all the three categories, the first prize consists of Rs.
15,000/- and the second prize of Rs. 10,000/- each.
Bharatendu Harishchandra
Awards are given by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting
since the year 1983 to promote original writings in Hindi on Journalism
and Mass Communications and other subjects. The awards will be
presented by the Honourable Minister of State for Information
and Broadcasting, Shri Ramesh Bais on 8th of January,
2003 in New Delhi.
