The Minister of State
for Information and Broadcasting, Shri Ramesh Bais reiterated
Doordarshan’s commitment to spread health awareness among masses.
He assured medical fraternity that DD would help in all possible
way to make people more conscious about health hazards and how
to stay healthy. The Minister was speaking at the function of
Delhi Medical Association "Paediacon II 2002" last evening.
Shri Bais urged medical
fraternity to provide health services at affordable prices, so
that poor could avail medical facilities. He regretted that health
services are becoming out of reach for poor, as their costs have
skyrocketed recently.
He informed that
Government is taking action against surrogate advertisements of
liquor and tobacco being shown on some TV channels.
