LOK SABHA
The National Policy
on Dissemination of Statistical Data came into effect in 1999.
According to the policy, all the Ministries/Departments of the
Government of India would make available, without identification
particulars, published and unpublished validated data, including
unit level data, which are not sensitive in nature, to national
and international users. The price of data thus supplied would
include the cost of stationery, computer consumables and computer
time for sorting information, but not the cost of collection and
validation.
This information
was given in the Lok Sabha today by the Minister of State for
Statistics & Programme Implementation shri Vijay Goel in the
written reply to a question by Dr. N. Venkataswamy.
