Canadian High Commissioner,
Mr. Peter Sutherland met Union Agriculture Minister Shri Ajit
Singh here today to discuss matters of bilateral interest.
During the meeting,
Mr. Sutherland raised the issue of India’s restrictions on the
import of Canadian bovine semen and sought Ministers’ help in
resolving the issue. Shri Ajit Singh assured the High Commissioner
to look into the matter. Certain other issues relating to Animal
Husbandry, farming and export of animal products were also discussed.
Senior officials of Agriculture Ministry were present during the
meeting.
