Out of the total
10th Plan outlay of Rs. 650 crore for the plan schemes
of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, an amount of Rs.
250 crore has been proposed for the schemes of Infrastructural
Development which include setting up of Food Parks. This information
was given by the Minister of State of Food Processing Industries
Shri N.T. Shanmugam in written reply to a question by Shri Iqbal
Ahmed Saradgi in Lok Sabha today.
The Minister informed
that the Ministry of Food Processing Industries has been monitoring
the implementations of Food Parks Scheme. Decision has been taken
to recall funds allocated to two implementing agencies, one, on
account of inability to contribute matching share and no progress
on the ground and the other where implementing agency recommended
setting up the Food Park in a location other than the one approved.
