RS. 9.47 CRORE RELEASED TO MADHYA PRADESH FOR WATERSHED DEVELOPMENT
PROJECTS
The Ministry of Rural Development
has released Rs. 947.225 lakh to Madhya Pradesh for the watershed
development projects, under Drought Prone Areas Programme (DPAP),
during the year 2002-03. Out of this, Rs. 357.75 lakh is for planning
and development of watershed projects, which were started during
the year 2001-02. The districts, which get funds from this sanction,
are – Shahdol (Rs. 47.25 lakh, 14 projects), Seoni (Rs. 47.25
lakh, 14 projects), Badwani (Rs. 40.50 lakh, 12 projects), Raisen
(Rs. 20.25 lakh, 6 projects), Guna (Rs. 40.50 lakh, 12 projects),
Betul (Rs. 67.50 lakh, 20 projects), Damoh (Rs. 20.25 lakh, 6
projects), Dewas (Rs. 20.25 lakh, 6 projects) and Chindwara (Rs.
54.00 lakh, 16 projects).
The Ministry has released Rs.
589.475 lakh for the watershed projects started during the year
2000-01 in eight districts of the State. The districts are: Jhabua
(Rs. 23.235 lakh, 7 projects); Seoni (Rs. 63 lakh, 14 projects);
Ratlam (Rs. 18 lakh, 4 projects); Khandwa (Rs. 181.51 lakh, 35
projects); Guna (Rs. 124.875 lakh, 37 projects); Betul (Rs. 54
lakh, 12 projects); Damoh (Rs. 33.73 lakh, 10 projects) and Dewas
(Rs. 91.125 lakh, 27 projects).
Besides, the Ministry has also released
Rs. 535.91 lakh under Integrated Wasteland Development Programme
(Employment Assurance Scheme – Watershed Component) for completion
of ongoing watershed projects, taken up prior to April 1st
1999, to three districts of the State. The districts, which get
the funds from this are: Jabalpur (Rs. 355 lakh), Mandsaur (Rs.
118.41 lakh) and Rajgarh(Rs. 62.50 lakh).
