STANDING COMMITTEE ON FOODGRAINS EXPORTS

JOINT SECY.(STORAGE & IMPEX ) TO BE MEMBER SECRETARY

The Standing Committee on Exports of foodgrains in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution will have the Joint Secretary (Storage and Impex) as Member Secretary.

The empowered standing committee was set up in March this year to take expeditious decisions on matters relating to export of foodgrains. The committee with Secretary, Department of Food and Public Distribution as Chairman interacts with exporters and other representative bodies as often as required to resolve all issues relating to export of foodgrains.

The other Members of the Committee include, Additional Secretary and FA, Managing Directors of FCI and CWC, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce (dealing with Agriculture/foodgrains related WTO matters) and Joint Secretary (FCI).
