PROGRESS OF NEEMUCH-RATLAM GAUGE CONVERSION WORK

The Railways have provided Rs.30 crores for 135 kilometre long Neemuch-Ratlam gauge conversion work in Madhya Pradesh during the current financial year 2003-2004. So far, Rs. 39.93 crores has been spent on this project. The estimated expenditure on this project is Rs.167.51 crores.

Work on long-lead items has been taken up. Twenty-one major bridges out of 31 and 85 minor bridges out of 125 have been completed. Earth-work and ballast collection are in progress. The project will be progressed and completed as per availability of resources.
