GUJARAT GETS FUNDS FOR RURAL HOUSING
Ministry of Rural
Development has released Rs 50.08 lakh to Mehsana District of
Gujarat as first installment of central assistance for the implementation
of the Indira Awas Yojana for the year 2003-2004.
The grant is towards
the Plan expenditure and will be utilized for construction of
new houses/upgradation of kutcha houses into pucca houses.
The expenditure on
the implementation of the programme is to be shared on 75:25 basis
between the Centre and the State respectively.
The State Government
should release its share within a month of the date of release
of the Central assistance.
Ministry has approved
the release of 1069 tonnes of common Wheat as first installment
of foodgrains to Patan district of Gujarat State under Sampoorna
Grameen Rojgar Yojana (SGRY). The transportation cost of lifting
the foodgrains will be borne by the State Government. The payment
of the foodgrains will be made by the Ministry of Rural Development
directly to FCI on lifting of foodgrains.
