SHRI VIKRAM VERMA INAUGURATES J.K.BOSE CRICKET TOURNAMENT

The Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Vikram Verma inaugurated the J.K.Bose Cricket Tournament at National Stadium today. The Minister congratulated the All India Sports Journalists Association for organising this event. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Ministry would go all out to support their cause. He also announced that a Committee under the Chairmanship of Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, has been founded which will incorporate the suggestions from the Journalist Associations/Federations for creating better working environment for them.

Recognising the important role that sports journalists play, he said that better interaction between the Ministry and journalists would be mutually productive. They were welcome to give suggestions which shall be incorporated after due consideration. He gave best wishes to the organisers and later met all the participants of the cricket teams.

Mrs. J.K.Bose, wife of Shri J.K.Bose, in whose memory the tournament is held each year; Shri Bhupender Dhawan, Dronachaya Awardee; Shri K.Jagannath Rao, senior journalist, Shri Eswar and many other journalists were present on the occasion.
