EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL EXCHANGE
PROGRAMME WITH GREECE
The Educational and
cultural Exchange programme between the Government of the Republic
of India and the Government of the Hellenic Republic of Greece
for the years 2003 to 2006 was signed here today. The programme
has been drawn for implementation of the objectives of mutual
cooperation agreed under an agreement entered between the two
countries as far back as on 22nd June, 1961. This Programme
is an executive action plan for the next three and quarter years.
During this period, mutual exchanges in the fields of Education,
Historical and Cultural Research, Archives and Libraries, Art
and culture and Youth and Sports are envisaged.
Under this Programme
exchange of University professors, Vocational Training experts,
professional in the fields of Cultural Education in Schools, specialists
I the fields of Documentation of the Arts and production of Cultural
Resources, Historians, Librarians, personalities in the various
fields of culture viz., literature, fine arts, theatre, music,
dance, folklore etc; experts in the fields of conservation of
works of art and restoration of monuments, archaeologists, museologists,
sport team/coaches, sport managers etc. is envisaged. The programme
also envisages mutual exchange of books, periodicals, microfilms
of archival sources, publications including contemporary literature.
Bilateral academic links between institutions of higher education
are also proposed during the period of this programme. Seminars/symposia
in the field of history, philosophy and culture and issues relating
to cultural heritage shall also be held under this Programme.
Exchange of exhibitions of contemporary art or photography and
participation in international film festivals of each other country
are also promised under this programme.
