JAITLEY APPROVES 20 CASES OF FOREIGN
TECHNOLOGY COLLABORATION
Shri Arun Jaitley,
Minister of Commerce & Industry and Law & Justice has
approved 20 cases of foreign technology collaboration/franchise
agreements based on the recommendations of the Project Approval
Board (PAB).
The PAB in its meeting held on 20.10.2003 under the Chairmanship
of Shri Rajeeva Ratna Shah, Secretary, Department of Industrial
Policy & Promotion, had recommended these cases for approval.
The approved proposals include technical collaboration agreement
between M/s EMA India Ltd. with M/s Eldec Schwenk Induction GmbH,
Germany for manufacturing high frequency transistorised IGBT/MOSFET
frequency convertors; technical agreement between M/s Cummins
India Ltd. and Cummins Inc., U.S.A. for manufacture of internal
combustion Piston engine. The
proposal for Trademark agreement of M/s Robert Bosch India Ltd.
with M/s Robert Bosch GmbH, Germany for fuel injection systems
for petrol engines; technology agreement of M/s ABB Ltd. with
M/s ABB Technology Ltd., Switzerland for manufacture of instrument
transformers; technology agreement of M/s Samurai Entertainment
Pvt. Ltd. with M/s IMAX Corporation, Canada for setting up of
three large format theatres were also included in the list of
approved cases.
The Licensing Committee (LC), in its meeting held on 20.10.2003,
had recommended 14 proposals for grant of Industrial License and/or
amendments in existing ones. The main sectors/areas of the approvals
include textiles, food products and pharmaceuticals.
