NEW VARIEITIES OF PULSES AND OILSEEDS
IDENTIFIED FOR RELEASE
One
new variety of field pea, IPS 99-95 for Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh,
Maharashtra, Gujarat and the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh
has been identified for release. One variety of chickpea, HK 98-115
for Punjab, Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan has also
been identified for release. One safflower variety, JLSF-414 has
been identified for both irrigated and rain fed conditions. This
variety has higher yield potential as compared to the existing
varieties. The new varieties were identified for release during
the Annual Group Meet of the All Indian Coordinated Rabi Pulses
Project at Bangalore recently.
