THE COMPETITION COMMISSION NOTIFIED
The
Central Government through a notification dated 14th
October, 2003 issued under Sub Section (1) read with sub Section
(3) of Section 7 of the Competition Act, 2002 established with
effect from 14th October, 2003, the Competition Commission
of India with its head office at new Delhi. The Central government
through separate notifications under the Competition Act, 2002
issued on 14th October, 2003 has appointed Shri Dipak
Chatterjee as Chairperson and Shri Vinod K. Dhall, Member of the
Competition Commission of India.
Shri Vinod Dhall
has assumed charge of the office of Member, Competition Commission
of India on 17th October, 2003. Shri Vinod Dhall has
previously worked as the Secretary, Department of Company Affairs
in the Ministry of Finance. Prior to that he has worked in the
areas of Finance, Commerce and Industry both in the Central Government
and the State Government. He has also worked in the United Nations
Industrial Organisation as an expert in these fields in developing
countries.
