NATIONAL HYDROELECTRIC POWER CORPORATION’S
PERFORMANCE DURING THE FIRST HALF OF 2003-04
National Hydroelectric
Power Corporation Ltd.(NHPC) has completed the 300 MW Chamera
Stage – II Project in Himachal Pradesh eight months ahead of schedule.
It has commissioned one unit of 100 MW of Chamera Stage – II Project
on 3.10.2003, eight months ahead of schedule. Remaining two units
of 100 MW each are likely to be commissioned within few days.
NHPC registered
a profit of Rs.281 Crores against Rs.263 Crores for the corresponding
period of last year. It has achieved a sales turnover of Rs.804
Crores. It has realized Rs.2027.90 Crores up to October, 2003
during the financial year.
The Corporation
has signed MOU with Government of Uttaranchal to execute 850 MW
Kotli Bhel Project in Uttaranchal. MOU signed for execution of
420 MW Lakhwar Vyasi Project in Uttaranchal. It has been awarded
the civil works package of 120 MW Sewa Stage – II Project in J&K.
It has also diverted river successfully on 7th November,
2003 at the 800 MW PARBATI Stage – II Project. NHPC has been awarded
civil works package of 132 MW Teesta Low Dam Stage – III Project
in West Bengal. Government approval has been received for increasing
the authorised share capital to Rs.15,000 crores from present
Rs.10,000 crores.
During the financial
year upto 15.11.2003, new Consultancy Assignments and payments
amounting to Rs.9265 lakhs and Rs.1145 lakhs have been received
against Rs.869 lacs and Rs.248 lacs respectively in the previous
year. The daylighting of Head Race Tunnel of 390 MW Dulhasti H.E.
Project was achieved on 27.8.2003. The Corporation has been awarded
the work of Preparation of Pre-Feasibility Report of Tamanthi
H.E. PROJECT IN Myanmar during June, 2003.
