PRESIDENT CONDOLES DEATH OF SHRI MURASOLI MARAN

The President, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, has condoled the death of the Union Cabinet Minister, Shri Murasoli Maran.

In a message to the late Minister’s wife, Smt. Mallika Maran, the President said, "Shri Maran was a multi-faceted personality who contributed to the Nation in various capacities during his career. He was an able newspaper editor, a versatile film writer and producer, a distinguished parliamentarian for over three decades and person committed to economic reforms in the country. As a Minister in the Government of India, he had made significant contributions in the field of Commerce & Industry".

Dr. Kalam also spoke to the deceased leader’s son, Shri Dayanidhi Maran on phone.
