CENTRAL WAKF COUNCIL RECONSTITUTED

The Central Government has reconstituted the Central Wakf Council, CMC. In a notification issued here by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the Council will have a tenure of 5 years with effect from May 1, 2003. The 19 members Council is headed by the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Satyanarayan Jatiya. The Civil Aviation Minster Syed Shahnawaz Hussain and Members of Parliament Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Shri Akbar Ali Khandoker have been appointed as Member of the CWC. The Administrator of the Punjab Wakf Board, the largest Wakf Board in the Country, Dr.M.Rehman, the Chairman of Gujrat State Wakf Board .Prof. Mohd. Yousuf Qureshi and the Chairman of the UP Sunni Central Board of Wakfs .Shri Amir Alam have also been appointed as Members. The other Members of the Cuncil are:
