PAWAN HANS GIVES RS. 26.79 CRORE DIVIDEND TO GOVERNMENT
Pawan Hans Helicopters
Ltd. is likely to start inter-island helicopter service in Andaman
Nicobar Islands within one week. The contract for the service
has been signed between Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd. and the Island
Administration. The Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee had
announced the resumption of the service during his visit to the
Islands in January this year. PHHL is also working out the feasibility
of starting helicopter services for the Holy shrine of Kedarnath.
A team from Pawan Hans has recently visited the area in this regard.

Ltd. today handed over dividend cheques worth Rs.26.79 crores
to the Civil Aviation Minister Shri Syed Shahnawaz Hussain. The
cheques were handed over by the Chairman and Managing Director
of PHHL Shri N.V. Sridhar. The amount includes 10 per cent final
dividend for the year 2000-01 and 10 per cent interim dividend
for the years 2001-02 and 2002-03. The Government of India holds
78.5 per cent of the Rs.113.76 crore equity, while the balance
21.5 per cent is held by the ONGC.
Accepting the cheques,
the Civil Aviation Minister lauded the role and performance of
the company. He hoped that PHHL will carve out a place for itself
in the international arena, as it could be converted to a maintenance
centre for helicopters ffrom SAARC countries.
