Indian Railways have provided electrical charging point in premium passenger coaches like Air-Conditioned First and Air Conditioned Executive Chair Car for charging cellular phones and laptop computers.

Besides, berth reading lights are being introduced in the head rests of AC 2-Tier coaches being rolled out at Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala.

In addition, 24 volt lighting system has been replaced by fluorescent tube light fittings in all passenger coaches to improve the illumination level.

Illumination of reservation chart and coach number in passenger coaches for all trains has been provided for improved visibility.

Improved ventilation in general second class coaches has been provided with additional fans.
